Low-emission zone: what you need to know
Wallonia has abandoned its regional low-emission zone: no driving ban based on the Euro standard applies in Wallonia at the end of 2026. However, if you work or drive in Brussels, a Euro 5 diesel has been barred there since 1 January 2026, which reduces the number of buyers and weighs on its price.
Avoiding private-sale scams
Car listings also attract fake buyers: fake transfers, payment requests through a middleman, bounced cheques. Selling to an identified professional, with a contract and an instant transfer received before the car leaves, removes that risk.
